  • Take Two with Phineas and Ferb

    Have you ever wanted to see Jack Black interviewed by cartoon characters? Now’s your chance. Step brothers Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher have an animated talk show set complete with a desk, chairs and skyline backdrop. Each episode, a celebrity (in live-action form) takes a seat on the cartoon set and answers questions posed by the titular pair.

Unfortunately, the esper known only as Locke has either never heard the “with great powers come great responsibilities” speech or he simply doesn’t care, and he refuses to leave his peaceful civilian life herding sheep. However, when Lady Kahn makes a preemptive move to take Locke and Ryu out of the picture, the irritated superbeing quickly changes his mind. Now the bad guys are about to learn that starting a fight with someone with super powers that include teleportation, a nearly indestructible force field and space martial arts was a very big mistake!

    When video creator Angie knocks on the door of the City Hunter detective agency looking for a missing cat, Ryo Saeba and Kaori Makimura think they have a simple case on their hands. But an attempt on Angie’s life changes the game, leaving Ryo in the crosshairs of mysterious assassins on the trail of Angel Dust, a military technology capable of creating super soldiers. Under the watchful eye of his adoptive father Kaibara, Ryo will have to deal with a past he has tried to escape for too long.

    Ryo Saeba works the streets of Tokyo as the City Hunter. He’s a “sweeper” and with his sidekick Kaori Makimura, he keeps the city clean. People hire the City Hunter to solve their dangerous problems, which he does with a Colt Python. When Ryo’s not working on a case, he’s working on getting the ladies, and Kaori must keep him in check with her trusty 10 kg hammer.

  • Urusei Yatsura: Only You

    Six-year-old Ataru steps on Elle’s shadow during an impromptu game of shadow-tag; in Elle’s culture, this is viewed as a marriage proposal. Eleven years later, Elle returns to Earth in order to marry Ataru — by which time not only had he forgotten the events of his childhood, but he was also going out with Lum. The rest of the plot focuses on Lum’s attempts to prevent the marriage. The film was directed by Mamoru Oshii who was mad at the many requests that the producer made of him to alter the movie. Rumiko Takahashi considers this film her favorite and it is the most true to the original series.
