A portrait of the groundbreaking Moroccan band Nass El Ghiwane, documenting a series of electrifying live performances in Tunisia, Morocco, and France; on the streets of Casablanca; and in intimate conversations. Storytellers through song and traditional instruments, and with connections to political theatre, the band became a local phenomenon and an international sensation, thanks to their rebellious lyrics and sublime, fully acoustic sound, which draws on Berber rhythms, Malhun sung poetry, and Gnawa dances.

A night at the movies turns into a nightmare when Michael and his date are attacked by a horde of bloody-thirsty zombies. On top of the success of the Thriller album and Michael Jackson’s electrifying performance at Motown 25, the short film/music video for “Thriller” established Jackson as an international superstar and global phenomenon. Thriller is credited for transforming music videos into a serious art form, breaking down racial barriers in popular entertainment, popularizing the making-of documentary format and creating a home video market. The success transformed Jackson into a dominant force in global pop culture. In 2009, it became the first music video inducted into the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as “culturally, historically or aesthetically significant”. “Thriller” was also Jackson’s seventh and final U.S. Hot 100 Top 10 hit from the Thriller album. It was the first album in history to have seven U.S. Top 10s.

O’ Money
A wealthy man doing a business of money lending for high interest put his son to as a collector. But when he begins to love a girl who is one of his father customers, he tears up the lending contract, moves out of his father’s house and even joins the people demonstrating against his father for planning to build a condominium on people’s land. The father is very furious and challenges his son to a musical band competition: if his son wins, he will cancel all the loans contracts and will not build the condominium.

Emerald Cities
Emerald Cities, completing the trilogy, is a story about a young woman who runs off from her Death Valley home to seek her fortune. Her drunken dad still stuck in his Santa suit from the local Christmas pagent, follows and soon comes in contact with the “new dark ages” of 1984. Juxtapositions of “on-the street” interviews (by Willie Boy Walker), punk performances by bands Flipper and The Mutants, TV shows of past-life hypnotism and nuclear destruction, and a crazed ex-con all finally intermix with the characters’ own sagas.
